We use up to four different companies to ship Fleetscale Products all over the world. The reason for this is a "best price" policy to keep the costs down for our customers. The problem is that the most economical shippers also have limits on the maximum package length. For instance, Parcelforce will ship to Australia and the USA for £45 but the maximum length of package is 1.5m. This means that the largest hull that we can ship with Parcelforce is HMS Royal Oak (1.47m length) & Resolution and that includes the UK. Any hull larger than that including the largest (Yamato) will be despatched by TBA.

For destinations other than the UK the problem is that by and large everything has to go airfreight. Not a problem you say, a hull only weighs four kilo's or so. True, it does, but because of the package size they work on volumetric weight. Can't tell you how that works but what it means is that a 5 kilo hull (inc. packaging) ends up costing anything from the 13kg to 75kg rate.

The online shopping system cannot calculate the correct shipping charge due to the nature of the product and so therefore a shipping surcharge is likely to be asked for prior to despatch.

Because of package size restrictions we have to use other carriers on anything longer than 1.75m. and it costs a lot more to ship a hull to the USA & Australia once it reaches that length. The answer is to get together with a fellow modeller (join a club) and order 2 or more hulls because they will cost the same to ship as one.


Delivery Times

A Fleetscale hull and Fleetscale fittings could normally be despatched within 10 to 14 days and would take 2-5 days to reach destination. If fittings other than Fleetscale are ordered (they are carriage free with a hull) then delivery may take up to 28 days. If you are in a hurry to get started we suggest you place your order for a Hull & Fleetscale fittings separately (but at the same time) to that of the other fittings OR you place the comment "Supply ASAP, split delivery if necessary" in the "Additional Information Box" on the Customer Details page.

Secure for Credit Cards

Paying for your purchases using "Netbanx" and their secure servers is safer that phoning your credit card details to a retailer or paying in a shop or restaurant with a credit card. Do not believe the ridiculous hype about credit card fraud on the internet. Their is more credit card fraud using these other methods than there is on the internet. We can also accept payment by PayPal. Upon request we will send you a PayPal invoice to cover the cost of your order.You do not have to have a PayPal account and you can pay with any debit/credit card including Maestro. Netbanx will not accept Maestro.

Currency

Paying for your purchases by credit or debit card is the easiest option all round but we only accept payment in GB£'s. When in "shopping basket" mode before selecting your method of payment, you can see how much your purchases will cost in your own local currency by clicking on "Currency Convertor". This is for guidance only and will show you what the total cost will be in your own currency at the exchange rate prevailing at the time of purchase.
