The Complete Marine Radio Control Manual by
Hugh Bright
That's exactly what it is - complete - everything you need
to know about putting r/c into model boats is here. And what a lot
you do need to know. As someone coming from a r/c model aircraft
background I thought I knew it all. No way, electrics and water
don't mix and if they do your model could go up in flames in the
middle of the pond. It could also go up in flames if you haven't
fused the system correctly - or at all, because of the much
heavier currents involved with the lead/acid batteries. Fitting
sirens, water pumps, dealing with electrical interference - it's
all here and more, very essential stuff. This is a book that
should be on every model boat builders bookshelf, whether
experienced or not.
Chapter Headings include:-
Transmitters & Receivers,
Servos, TX & RX Power Supplies, Interference & Earthing,
Electric Motors, Main Power Supplies & Fusing, Controlling the
Power, Chargers & Battery Management, Tools & Soldering,
Auxiliary Functions & Electronic Kits, Extendings Functions
inc TX Mods, Relays, Switches, & Sound Units, Installing RC
Equipment etc, etc.
